Fond memories of Sharon Tibbs from her Fort Frances council colleagues.
Councillors took time during last night's meeting to remember the long-time councillor who died last week.
Members of her family were on hand as each member of council remembered Sharon and her accomplishments.
An emotional Ken Perry says one of her favourite sayings was 'volunteerism is one of the dues you pay to live in a vibrant community' and she lived that way until her passing.
Andrew Halikas called Tibbs his seatmate, noting her vacant chair beside his at the council table.
Hallikas says her passion for all things Fort Frances, the depth of her concern for all issues and knowledge and history of the community made her an invaluable member of council.
Tibbs served two separate terms, for a total of 16 years, separated by an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2003.
Funeral services will be held Saturday.
