Food Recalls Issued


The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Canada Safeway are warning the public not to serve or consume various store-made and Signature Cafe brand salads because they may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

The recall is being initiated because the salads may contain a ready-to-eat romaine-based salad recalled by Fresh Express Incorporated of California.

The romaine-based salads come with a Best Before dates of July 14 and 15.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is also warning northwestern Ontario residents not to eat Freybe brand head cheese.

The Agency says the product may be contaminated with salmonella.

All products sold up to and including July 14 are affected by the recall.

The C-F-I-A says it may have been sold from deli counters or repackaged at the store.
