The Fort Frances Muskies boys soccer team fell 2-0 to Kenora in the b-side final of a tournament in Winnipeg.
Mitch Cain did earn tournament all-star honours, scoring twice for the Muskies during its four games. In round robin play, the Muskies lost 3-0 to River East then beat Louis Riel 2-0. A 3-1 win over Glenlawn in the b-side semi-final advanced the Muskies to final against Kenora.The boys will open NORWOSSA play this Wednesday here at home.
In a series of exhibition games in Thunder Bay, the Muskies girls soccer team split a pair of games with St. Patrick's High School, losing 5-0 in the opener before earning a 4-2 decision in the second.
Courtney Roach led the team with 2 goals. Sara Roach and Emma Elliott added singles. Muskies also played Hammarskjold High School, but there is no score yet available from that game.
