Hundreds of tonnes of children's clothes, diapers and food items collected by Family and Children Services Rainy River last month are on their way to Pikangikum.
They're being delivered in two trailers provided by the Ontario Provincial Police.
Constable Anne McCoy is one of four officers making the trip.
"We're all going to take the cargo in two of our emergency response trailers," says McCoy, "and haul them up with our suburbans in a convoy that includes representatives from Family and Children's Services with us."
The trailers were loaded yesterday afternoon by FACS staff and OPP, along with members of the Fort Frances Lakers.
The group will leave Fort Frances this morning, arriving in the remote community north of Red Lake later this afternoon.
