Baiting Citations

Minnesota conservation officers issued 129 citations and seized 140 firearms for baiting during the state's 2009 deer hunting seasons.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says its officers received 545 baiting complaints.

The DNR says nearly 60 percent of the hunters who were cited admitted that they knew baiting was illegal, but did it anyway.
