The Ontario government is moving quickly to establish a new new spending watchdog.
The Financial Accountability Officer, once approved, will provide independent analysis to all MPPs about the state of the province's finances.
Finance Minister Charles Sousa says they would also be tasked with providing financial cost or benefit to the province of any public bill.
Liberals says its too early to say when the officer will be in place, noting legislation must first past with the potential candidate elected by a committee of all three parties.
