The community of Pikangikum is now in the process of doling out the hundreds of donations of clothes, diapers and food items from the Rainy River district.
Executive Director of Family and Children Services Vik Nowak says they're working with community members to distribute the items.
"We're working with North-South Partnership as well as Tikinagan (Child and Family Services) and the band," says Nowak. "The plan for us is to deliver most of the supplies to the community centre in Pikangikum."
Nowak says they're also helping to fill specific needs identified by local school officials and the OPP.
The items were collected last month by FACS and delivered to the remote community yesterday.
