A new campaign kicks off this week in Minnesota to educate people on the symptoms of a heart attack and the need for quick action.
Retired Bemidji physician Brian Livermore says it's critical to seek immediate help upon the onset of symptoms, as he did last August when he suffered an acute blockage, often referred to as teh widow maker.
Livermore says the best call to make when your life is on the line is to 911 when encountering symptons such as chest pain, discomfort in the arms or jaw or a shortness of breath.
