A federal commission is backing down on moving Lake of the Woods Township out of the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding as part of a redraw of federal ridings in Ontario.The commission recommended it be attached the Kenora riding.
But president George Valin says concerns brought forward to a hearing in Kenora convinced them to reconsider.
In her presentation, Lake of the Woods township Mayor Valerie Pizey said the area identifies more with the Rainy River district than Kenora.
