The U.S. Forest Service is lifting campfire restrictions in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness because of cooler temperatures and shorter days.Forest managers have also reopened an area along the Canadian border and around Knife Lake.
The area was closed earlier this month while a fire was burning within Quetico Provincial Park on the Canadian side.
Fire crews will continue to monitor the area.
